ANU University Research Scholarship — 2027 HDR Entry

ANU’s centrally managed University Research Scholarship supports high-achieving higher degree by research candidates whose work aligns with the university’s priorities. The listed 2027 full-time base stipend is AUD 40,475 per annum, paid for 3.5 years for a PhD or 1.5 years for an MPhil. Separate fee arrangements must be checked.

Eligibility

Domestic and international research candidates with at least first-class honours or equivalent may be considered; salaried Industry PhD candidates are excluded. Colleges rank eligible candidates on academic record, research potential, supervisor support, referee reports and English competence.

Application process

Apply for admission to an eligible ANU higher degree by research and select consideration for ANU Other Scholarships. The international Round 1 admission deadline of 31 August for early following-year entry has passed for this cycle; ANU also conducts Round 2 for entry by August of the same year. Confirm the next applicable deadline with the Graduate Research School and allow time for referees.
